Concept art for school assignment: Observe a piece of architecture, and incorporate it into an imagined setting based on a word prompt: Overgrown.

I drew the house from observation, placing it in an enchanted giant mushroom forest.

I wanted to show an unexpected interpretation of "Overgrown" - which is usually thought of as moss and foliage. I illustrated the house overgrown with mushrooms instead - suggesting the narrative of the abandoned house.

I also created a version of this scene at night.
